Running to your mother

Yesterday was a beautiful day and despite the long distance (20 miles) it was mostly warm as I weaved in and out of the dales. I saw lots of livestock with their young…cows, horses, birds, llamas, and mostly SHEEP! Watching the lambs never tires. They are literally everywhere frolicking, sheltering, eating, and finding warm places to soak up the not so frequently seen sun. Some lambs are brazen while others are shy; and, whether they are very young or getting to be 1/2 size, they all run back to their mothers. Some sense the potential danger that is approaching while others are oblivious and need to be called to safety by a persistently bleating mother. As adults, during different times, we ware both the lamb that needs to run back to safety and the mother that needs to be bleating. Don’t be afraid to call someone back, persistently. They may not be aware that you are that mother sheep to them. They may be so far down a road that they don’t hear your first cries. And, if you need to run back toward your safe person, do so without reservation they will be so glad that you did.
